Top of the slide. Factory "eternabond" tape is coming up from slide going in and out

Maybe there was poor surface prep at Monaco when manufactured in 1999?

So far I am cutting all the loose tape stuff away. I will put new Eternabond over the old tape and hopefully seal it off.

Note that the gasket on the top of the slide opening is not contacting the slide when it is all the way out. When I took the

awning off, the sun came right into the coach. It does seal when closed. When we were in a blowing rain storm, there was

 water in the cabinets above the sink and the carpet was soaked behind the driver seat.
